Ohioans for Concealed Carry is hosting petitions to Starbucks, Chipotle, and Sonic, all of whom have had armed robberies, reminding them that our intent is being able to defend ourselves and our families.

Please help us counter the Meddling Mommies and preserve our ability to carry there. We are behind them in the court of public opinion. We need to beat them at their own game.

    Chipotle: https://ohioccw.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=8
    Starbucks: https://ohioccw.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=9
    Sonic: https://ohioccw.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=10

Please spread the word. The Mommies said they got 10,000 signatures saying guns don't belong. Let's get 20,000 that say that they do, in the hands of law-abiding men and women.

    Thanks!

(Sorry I haven't learned how to make links "pretty" with this system yet. )

All 3 of those petitions are a request to allow lawful concealed carry. While better than nothing at all, honoring the laws in the staes that the restaurants/stores are in is the best option. If the people have decided they want the option of open carry, then the various company's policies should respect that if the policies are going to allow at all.

I signed all 3. While I agree that I would rather see the petition be for following the local law on guns, I'm in for half a loaf as long as it helps get us down the road to the whole enchilada.

Yes, the petitions are specifically for concealed carry. Here is the reasoning behind it:
We recognize that our campaign may not be popular with some of the more dogmatic open carry advocates. They need to understand that most of us support and participate in open carry on public property, and we are willing pursue the legal right to do so. Private enterprise is another matter. Each of us engages in a contract when we do business with a private enterprise, and between the parties to that contract, there are mutual expectations. They can ask us to exercise discretion in carrying our firearms, and in return, we can ask them to respect our right to defend ourselves and our families. That's fair. Those who do not like the terms of that contract are free to take their business elsewhere.
