    Hello, all.

I'm a visitor here and I hope you might be able to help out a fellow gun owner from Michigan.

My dear wife (aka "she who must be obeyed") decided it is critical that we visit the casinos in Michigan City, IN this coming weekend (April 9, 10, 11), based on recommendations from some friends. Being a loyal husband of thirty years, I am, of course, going along with her "suggestion." I know that she will want to spend some time relaxing in the pool or spa, so I will have a little free time.

I downloaded the Indiana Gun Shops spreadsheet from this site and I hope to visit some while I am there.

I have a curio and relics FFL, so my interest is in shops that might have a selection of older, reasonably priced collectable firearms, but I am willing to look around just about anywhere.

So, my question is, are there some shops, say within a 45 minute drive, that members here would recommend?

Thank you all for your assistance.

    Dan

    La Porte
Kempf (US20 & Johnson Rd) is good, he had a little surplus last time I was there. Other than that, Mishawaka has a few good shops, and there is a Bass Pro in Portage (just off hwy94). LaPorte Sporting Goods (2 & 35) isn't too bad, although it is pretty small.

They can move to Hades for all I care. Stopped in whilst visiting an uncle, and saw a great selection of 1187s. Called the next weekend, and was quoted 500.00 for a brand new one. Asked again to be sure. Yup. 500.00. Got some money, drove THREE FRICKIN' HOURS, and was told it was 599.99, and by golly, that was a great price. To Hades with Fetla's.

If you're up for a jaunt, you can make your way to LaPorte to visit the W. A. Jones Collection of Ancient Weapons at the LaPorte County Historical Society...basically the basement of the courthouse.

It's FANTASTIC, but the cataloging leaves much to be desired.

I know it's not a gun shop, but still worth the visit if you're able.
