    Think his gun held up, but looks like it scared the crap out of everyone.

    Looks like the slide is still functioning, the damage to the gun and the human both look minimal. I wonder what ammo he was shooting?

    I haven't read the thread over on BE.com, but if I had to guess (1) he's shooting reloads (40 S&W) and (2) the bullet set back on a charge of fast powder. Lite the primer and then witness a steep pressure curve.

    Shooter did a good job, safety wise. That had to be a pants wetting experience, I know some folks that likely would have just dropped the gun and run the other direction.

    yeah, after seeing that cloud of smoke, I would have been looking for a deer laying on the ground, thinking I had fired my muzzleloader....
