    When you have it on safe and you take a shot at a deer, I can assure you that there is no louder sound in the woods. I know a little about this. This is why I take the gun off safe when I get into my stand.

    This is my fear. I don't need anything working against me. I take care of that myself. :): I wish there was a way to make it like any other firearm, so the hammer cannot activate when on safe.

    My Rossi lever gun nor revolvers have a safety other than not cocking the hammer back! Have to be aware in the woods for sure, I have cocked the hammer plenty of times with a deer in firing range, I do it as I plant the rifle into my shoulder. Other times when lots of movement is going on I leave the hammer cocked and use smart trigger safety. :yesway:
