    New non-lethal defense round?

    REIDSVILLE, N.C. --

A 38-year-old man has been charged with loading a black powder pistol with toilet paper, then firing the weapon at his wife, Rockingham County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dean Venable said.
Venable said a deputy was called to a home on Garrison Road at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday and found the 55-year-old woman lying in bed, crying from severe pain.
The woman told the deputy that she came home after midnight and found her husband, Lonnie Irvin Pinnix, acting agitated. The woman got in bed, but Pinnix insisted that she get up, Venable said. Before she could get up, Pinnix fired the weapon, striking her in the back, Venable said.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for a powder burn.
Pinnix told the deputy he loaded the gun with toilet paper rather than a bullet because "she would not leave."
He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was being held on a $1,000 bond.
