I'm having an issue with the rear sights on my M1 .30 Carbine.
The rear sights can be set to 100, 150, 200, 250 or 300 yards.
When I set them at the 100 yard and after my 1st shoot the sights will move back to the 150 level by themselves due to the recoil of the rifle. This only occurs with the sights set at 100.
Any idea how to fix this?

Right now I shoot once push the sight back to the 100 yard and shot again, repeat.

Buy a new one, then you can mess with the old one. Is there a spring in the aperture that holds it in the detent? If so, tighten it up with a new spring or a shim in the spring channel. If not, a lite hammer on the top of the dado should pinch it better.

the sight is brand new, just installed this past winter.

I've cleaned and fixed these on originals and sometimes dried grease gets in the spring housing and sticks holding the detent ball up and a weak sight position occurs. But your sight is new?

In your case I would suspect the spring is weak or the detents too small. IME, the sight should be quite difficult to move normally. I would call the manufacturer.

    Just my .0002 cents worth.

I got them from Brownells . Should I call them? or the maker?
Also so you say there is a little spring on the sights? Is there a way to remove/clean the spring???
