    Should come....in 8-10 weeks or so. :D

I applied at the Greenwood PD on Friday, Sept 18th. Wouldn't be mailed until probably the 21st...

We'll see how long it takes!

I just moved back to the state. I still have a valid Utah permit, but I want an IN lifetime license so I don't have to dabble with renewals down the road. I heard there was talk about discontinuing the lifetime, but I've been out of state for the last two years or so -- anyone know if that is true or just a rumor?

I hope not. I'm eligible to apply again in December. But it wouldn't surprise me. They got rid of the lifetime hunting licenses.

It is a great feeling the day it arrives in the mail. I got mine last summer, it took every bit of 2 months and a couple days to get it. Perhaps the surge of new applicants has dwindled and won't take as long. But, congrats!

And actually last I heard, they had somehow streamlined the process to make getting the license much faster. But I doubt that, the only way you can make gov't bureaucracy work faster is by privatizing it.

Took 20 days for mine. Applied Sept. 3, received in mail Sept. 23. I also applied through Greenwood Pd. Pretty painless, huh?

I got mine 12/06. I don't remember it taking more 2-3 weeks to get back. Has the fee went up since they first came about?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd rather that than for you to get busted for something you don't know. But if your officially a resident in IN your UT permit doesn't cover you here. If your a resident you have to have a IN license to carry.

    IC 35-47-2-21
Recognition of retail dealers' licenses and licenses to carry handguns issued by other states
    (b) Licenses to carry handguns, issued by other states or foreign countries, will be recognized according to the terms thereof but only while the holders are not residents of Indiana.
