My youngest son-in-law kid each other about doing things that put our man cards in jeopardy. My latest foray into the danger zone involved making a batch of oatmeal cookies from scratch. He didn't complain about the cookies themselves after he scarfed down a couple, but threatened to revoke my man card for baking them. I contend that some of the best chefs in the world are men. In these modern times men are free to do a lot of things once considered reserved for the fairer of the species.

    Mmmmm Oatmeal Cookies.

I am with you on that. I am a bit biased though since I went to culinary arts school.

I make the bestest chocolate chip cookies ever! Well, I like 'em. I have also made cakes, scones, etc. from scratch. But I live alone and my fiance had a stove in her apartment for over three years...that wasn't even hooked up. So if I want it, I have to make it. I could give two :poop:s about a man card.

now if you were watching some real housewives show or soap on the kitchen tv while cooking/baking, then we might have to add a strike against your man card!

To make that determination, you must first answer this question

Were watching Ratchel Ray for the recepies or for Rachel herself???

A real man has to be able to feed himself doesn't he? Don't get me wrong, I have about three pizza places setup on speed dial on my phone, but a guy still has to be able to cook.

There are some things a guy can do to increase the manlyness in the way things get done. For example last night I grilled brauts on my new lodge logic grill pan and they were some of the best we've ever eaten. Cast Iron cooking makes all cooking manly.

a real man wouldn't care about what others thought of his interests... or about the loss of his hypothetical man card...
