Upon reviewing the March/April issue of the IAA Journal tonight, I learned that Lee Jurras (Super Vel) made 100 modern-day Howdah pistols in six (6) different calibers (.375, .416, .460, .475, .500 and .577).

Anyone on INGO ever have any contact with one, seen in the wild? Anyone shot one?

Completely impractical, so I am very interested.:D

I am lucky enough to know a number of people who hung out with Lee, worked at supervel, etc... I will ask around. Wouldn't be surprised if someone around here had one. I know of 2 people holding NIB custom 100's just because Lee said they should get one for an investment.

I really wish it werent such an issue to own a true modern Howdah. 20 gauge SxS pistol? about as impractical as it gets, but would certainly be cool, and a great conversation piece.

The Pedersoli black powder ones make fun toys and look nice, but that's about it. I need to have a holster made for it some day.:)
