So I'm looking to here some opinions on holsters, leather vs. Synthetic. I have a synthetic IWB now but am seeing some nice leather holsters out there and just curious as to what the pro's and con's are to each.

I'm also wondering which type would generally cause less holster wear on a piece. I'm guessin it depends upon the synthetic material and/or how the leather is finished.

After many hours of trying different holsters on, I had a synthetic, went with a blackhawk leather IWB, it was a toss up between that, and a Galco Summer comfort 2. I went with the blackhawk as it could also be appendix carried.

After a week I am still very happy with my choice.

The answer for me is both, my favorite being an MTAC. If I have to choose one or the other, I'll take leather, but hybrids are very tough to beat.

I have and do use both, leather (Galco belt slide), Serpa and the 'combo', a Crossbreed Quik Clip; just depends what I am carrying.
