Lafayette area camping and hiking

Where would you recommend to go camping or hiking in the Lafayette area?

Don't know how close you are looking, but you might try France Park, west of Logansport, on U.S.24.

I usually do the Cattail Trail on the weekends.

The Wabash Heritage Trail is a great day hike along the Wabash and you usually see some cool birds and critters.

The Purdue Horticultural Park is a great time, especially if you like trees.

The Hill Country Park is cool and a good place to see raptors (the flying kind, not the dinosaur kind).

You can hop down to Turkey Run or many other places in adjacent counties.

I don't camp, so I do not know what is available.

Go an hour south to either Shades or Turkey Run State Parks!

How far do you want to stray? We love camping at turkey run and raccoon. Shades is supposed to be great hiking.

I'd say an hour drive away, I went with a friend to one of the two for hiking I can't remember which one but it was really great.
