Those of you buy kydex and make your own sheaths/holsters, what are some of the better sources you've found for buying it cheaply or in bulk?

How much bulk do you mean? I buy mine on 4x8 pallets and have it delivered by a semi...

About how many square feet are you looking for at a time?

I too am looking to purchase some kydex. Don't need to buy in bulk at this point, but want to try my hand at making my own holsters for guns, knives, and lights. Where is the best place to purchase?

I suppose to start out with I should just buy a few square feet. How much does it take to create a typical holster?

    I'll worry about bulk later.

For small-scale DIY projects, KnifeKits.com can't be beat. If you ever start producing a quantity of holsters, or want to split the cost with buddies, you can save some money buy buying in 48x96 sheets.

For OWB concealment holsters, I typically use 0.080

For heavy duty rigs or dedicated OC holsters, I prefer 0.093

Knifekits is a fun and inexpensive way to try out different colors and thicknesses to see what suits you best.

I would recommend that you not use 0.060 for an OWB holster. It would probably hold up for awhile, but it is much more prone to cracking than the thicker material.

For knife sheaths, I almost always use 0.093
