Just checking in. I heard you had a shaker this morning.

Is a new volcano forming under them? If so, how do you prepare for rivers of lava?

Now a whole bunch of people are going to thinking about earthquake kits in the state. That is not a bad thing.

I'm 22 miles from the epicenter. Damn near spilled my coffee in my lap. Thought the furnace exploded down in the basement, but it continued running with no smoke. Put my shoes and looked around - then I thought there was a natural gas explosion in the neighborhood. It was a loud and quick violent shake of my house......

Pretty much my experience also. I've been through several earthquakes, but this one was more like an explosion. A small shake followed by a significant shock wave.

All that happened was the dogs ran into my bedroom at my place. Thought nothing of it until the Indy TV stations broke in with the SHTF event of the day..........

    Anybody ask these questions?

Do we know if an underground nuclear test was done in secret in the area?

Could be a space rock hit the area?

Or did my cousin fell down? most likely ( she is almost 600 lbs)

    Yeah, still here.

The wife said...... "What's going on?!?" :dunno:

I said..... "Baby, I just rocked your world!"

    :):

Low quick rumble then a boom, like kwatters said I thought someone drove into the house.

It gets your attention pretty quickly I can tell you.

Supposed to have been a 4.2 around Greentown.

I live north of Indy and we felt it pretty good here. Wasn't sure what it was, I thought an explosion or maybe a truck wreck.

Regardless I had to search the house which got the "Why do you have all those guns if you aren't even going to get one when searching the house" line from the wife...:noway:

I felt it this morning I just figured it was either the collapse of the hot air BS from when the POTUS was here last, or the sudden end of all the smoke and dreams of the UAW...

I live 3.1 miles from the epicenter. It was very strong and a new hill was formed from it...

How high is this hill? 5 feet or more, and are you sure a volcano is not going to form?

Go down in the subway and check for increased heat or better yet, check how fast the temperatures in the lakes are rising.

And for heavens sake, make sure you have heat protective clothing, supplied air breathing unit and a hummer.

I'll put the word out to have thousands of jersey barriers to ship up your way to keep the lava away from the residential areas.

How far again are you from the ocean? I need to figure how much of a trench we should plan on digging.

    We have alot to do!

BTW there was another quake in April of 2008 here in Kokomo.

    DYFI Historical Events

    Maybe unrelated but..........
And then the unexplained explosion in 2009 and
the sheriffs saying something crashed and there was a debris field
south of town, then the next day saying nothing was there.

    :runaway: :shady:

There is a small fault that runs through that area (Howard county). It's call the Sharpsville fault. Not alot of info on it because it is an extremely deep fault and very little testing has been done on it.
