I decided to camp at the koa in granger. The website for reservations I never found the guns policy. I emailed the site and was informed they have a no guns policy. I was also told I would be asked to leave. It struck me as funny I am renting a cabin there but if you had a motor home wouldn't you want to defend yourself?

Why do they need to know you have a gun? Being a JBT I have the privilege of carrying where others can't, but that doesn't mean I advertise the fact that I am carrying.*

*This is not an OC/CC thing, it is a no-one-needs-to-know thing.

This is what happens when you ask.

Each KOA campground is independently owned and they set their own rules. Guns are OK at some and not, at others. It's not illegal, but you could be asked to leave.

This should be a non event. Many campgrounds forbid firearms in their rules. I've camped at dozens of campgrounds and was never asked if I had a firearm.

I just returned from a four day bluegrass festival at a campground in a nearby state. Their website stated no firearms are permitted at the campground.

I carried my brace of N-frame sixshooters the whole four days, as I always do. The campground management was unaware of their existence, therefore they did not exist.

Don't ask, don't tell, NEVER volunteer.

I do a decent amount of traveling and camping in my motorhome, and the only people who need to know that I keep a gun in there is my family. In the many places I've been camping, a lot have a no gun policy, but they don't know that i have one, nor do they ask if I have one. Sometimes, people just don't need to know your business

if you think about the layout of that campground which is right next to a commercial/ retail district on the east side, I can imagine they would be afraid to permit firearms for fear that if somebody goes off half cocked they will be drawn into a premises liability suit needlessly

private property owners get to set their rules for people to enter their property. dont like it, dont go there.

I would ask what constitutes a "brace" of sixshooters but you said don't ask because you won't tell.

While you are there, Granger Guns is about 1/3 of a mile down the road. A small shop but they usually have some stuff others don't.
