What is the largest magazine available for a Kimber custom II 1911 that doesn't hang out of the bottom of the gun? I'm Thinking it's 8 but I may be wrong.

A full-size 1911 without sticking out is 8 rounds

for the single stack, you have 10 rounds & I've even seen a 25 round drum for the 1911. For the double stack 1911, you can get a 14 round mag

My buddy had a few of these. The wouldn't be ideal for carry by any means, however, if you break these things out in the range... Let's just say they turn some heads.

I don't trust PROMAG, maybe they have gotten better these days

Not at all. We got FTF's about every other mag... But it's a neat party trick. I wonder if I can find someone brave/stupid enough to try and bump shoot w/ those things...

I would stick to the 8 round max magazines, but I would never buy another Kimber Mag. I've never had good luck with Kimber mags, even when I owned Kimbers.

I do like the Chip McCormick mags and Wilson Combat mags in all of my 1911's.

+1 for the Wilson 47Ds in the full size 1911s....
