I was at the range today, having a great time (until it rained ). A couple of lanes over was a father and daughter. She must have been 5 or 6 and she was shooting her pink .22.
What touched me was the amount of care and patience this man was showing his daughter as she was learning how to shoot, gun safety, and range etiquette. They were both having a ball, and I don't know who was more proud, the father or daughter, when she squealed "I hit the bullseye, Daddy!!"
On the way home, it dawned on me that in order to change the opinion for responsible gun ownership, it has to start with children learning the correct way to safely handle a firearm.
So, do have a pic of your child shooting? I thought I would try a new thread, a thread of fame of our future shooters. Future members perhaps?
