Just wondering if anyone has any information on this rifle. It is a WWII Japanese Type I rifle. Evidently the Japanese Army needed the Arisaka and would not produce anymore rifles for the Japanese Navy. So, they contracted Italy to produce a rifle for the Japanese Navy. It is a combination of the Arisaka and Carcano rifles. I am just trying to find out some more information. I've heard that only 20,000 were made and I came across one. Any ideas for parts sources? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
There is not much information about this rifle anywhere. They did not make many, I have heard about 60,000. These are usually found in good condition as a lot of these were found in a warehouse after the war.
Here is a good site, but still sketchy information, but that is about all that's out there.

As for parts, good luck. There might be some here and there, and some might interchange with the carcano rifle, the best place to start would be springfield sporters. Springfield Sporters

Sounds like a good rifle, and ammo is available for it now.
