I've got a 10 inch cylinder that fell out of the sky and is sitting about 20 feet from my house. No marking and no bolt marks. Looks like a sleeve of some type.

Don't know how long it has been in the yard, but it was not there this morning. I know I didn't have it before today sitting in the barn or any other place.

My Daughter just called me and said she has video of something falling out of the sky south of Martinsville about an hour ago. Are you around Bloomington?

There was a gas explosion at the Cirilla's in Bloomington today.

Batteries, feather boas, and toys went flying everywhere.

Left a huge latex slick in the middle of Monroe Reservoir. :):

Years ago I was dismantling an old typesetter at the shop.

My brother came by and grabbed one of the parts.
A really nice machine aluminum spindle about a foot in diameter.
The spindle held film strips that were imaged on photo paper.

He went to one of his friends places for a cookout and
when he left he threw the spindle in the friends front yard.

The friend lives next to Grissom...........
The next day the Air Force came out to investigate the part
because the friend said it must have fallen off one of the overflights
    and he called the base.

Babbling mother of Hillery! It was you. This incident generated a Dropped Object Investigation and a Safety Down Day. We grounded the entire fleet of KC-135s and A-10s. We spent thousands of man-hours trying to figure out which plane lost this mysterious part. Crew Chiefs and Specialists will curse your for ever being born. :xmad::xmad::xmad: A pox on your futon, for you!

Is it aluminum? I don't think that this fell from the sky (like aircraft) because unless it were lightweight plastic, it would have been driven down into your yard. It could have be set down by remnants of a tornado though, ... stranger things have happened during wind storms. I'm wondering if you've had some contruction or other service trucks in your area ... any meter readers etc ??? It may have fell off a truck.

Funny! Reminds me of a pal of mine who was trying to grow a ginkgo tree.
The poor thing was only 18 inches tall and had only about 8 of those
distinctly shaped leaves on it. One day while riding around in Jeffersonville, IN
in the fall, I spotted a ginkgo that was dropping it's leaves (which are
beautiful pure yellow). I stopped, filled up a trash bag with these leaves
and returned to my friend's home in Otisco, IN, and buried his sapling with the leaves
(there was no other ginkgo in his neighborhood). I told him about it about
    a year later.
