It is a good deal ,for pricing more details are needed.
    Colt?
    Finish?
    shape?

A good resource to check is gunbroker.com ,but remenber asking price and getting price are to differant things.

Any decent condition, functional 1911 (well except for Llama) is worth around $300. It's gotta be in **** poor condition for it not to be.

Assuming it's in good shape, take it and run. I've seen used Commanders in decent shape going for anywhere from 650 to 900 depending on manufacturer and what kind of bells and whistles the piece has.

I would definitely take that deal. Sometimes you have to be wary of certain purchases, but for the gun at that price, I'd do it no doubt. Plus, it's a buddy of yours so you know the condition in which the gun was treated as well. Sometimes, that can be worth it anyways.
