I got a job at the local Tractor Supply Company after college let out for the summer and we get stacks of applications every week. I glanced at one a guy turned in and he had been laid off from Cummins where he was making $35 an hour. Before that he had a job that paid $50 an hour. TSC pays $7.25 an hour. You gotta do what you gotta do though. A job is a job.

Recent law grad. Firms aren't hiring, so no law jobs. Other employers don't want a blood sucking lawyer on staff, so no non-law jobs.

Looks like once I take the bar in February, I'll be hanging out my own shingle and hoping for the best. At least I can't lay myself off. :wallbash:

My brother just got eliminated from Simon in Indy yesterday. Maybe someone should tell those bamo ballwashing brothers they should follow their dear leaders socialist policies and not cut jobs to cut costs.

I've been laid off since December 2008. It looks like it's coming to an end - I got a letter telling me to report to work July 27th. Finally...

SO 37% definatly has me nervous. I don't think it is a true Representative number. But i do think it points to Unemployment being Much Higher than .gov wants to tell us

I am currently looking for a job. I will crawl into septic tanks or spend 10 hours a day picking fruit in a field before I ask the government for help. Any type of welfare is outside of the the government's role. This is what individual good will is for.

And no I don't think I am better than anyone who gets an unemployment check. I just won't use something I think shouldn't exist.

Hopefully not in Bloomington. Bloomington is saturated with lawyers. Your best prospects are population centers or where you can live almost for free until the practice gets off the ground, like a parents house. I guarantee it will take a year of so to get a practice earning any reasonable amount to pay you and pay for itself.

No, not here in B-town. I worked for a solo practitioner down here, so I've seen how the saturation makes things difficult.
I'm looking to relocate up to Indy, had a few interviews up there for various things, but haven't heard back from any yet. (knocking on wood)
Going back to IL (:puke:) is a possibility to live with the future parents-in-law. The latter choice is unappealing for a whole host of reasons though.
