Some questions which I hope some of you that are more aware of the process can help answer. Talking about INDIANA only here.
I know that both houses of congress must pass (ie vote) for a bill before it goes to our governor to sign or veto. If the governor vetos then indiana congress can over-ride by some majority right (2/3)
(that's 1st question).
(2nd question)
Is this the "life of a bill"
It starts in a committee which votes to send it to the full senate/house which then passes it so now what?
It goes to the "other side" house/senate for a vote?
Or does the speaker of the house/senate leader have to send it to a comittee?
Can the speacker of the house/senate leader never allow it to be voted on by the house/seante?
Does the house have to pass the same text as the senate? or can they change it?
If they change it does it go to a special session of house/senate?
If it goes here does the new bill (between house/senate) then have to get re-voted on by both houses before going to govenor?
I take it it's very similar to on the fed level right?
If their is a website where I can read the procees that would help as well.
Yes I should of listened in civics class but I don't ever recall hearing about the processing in civics class for Indiana. Just remember the topic on the federal level.
Thanks!
