I just read in the Evansville Courier that Illinois legislators struck down the carry permit again. Their govenor even stated that if it did pass he would just veto it. Quoted as saying that more guns being carried would cause more crime. What a joke. The article even stated that it could generate up to $40 million for the state, a state that can't pay its loans to pay its bills. Maybe one of these days the people of Illinois will get it right and stop electing these people if they want to get what 47 other states have. I travel through Illinois all the time and it just really sucks that they won't even reconize my permit. Oh well, maybe someday.......

For those interested, there is a site, www.illinoiscarry.com that has a ton of info as to how this is going in Illinois. As a refugee from Illinois, IMO it won't happen until they get rid of the Chicago criminal socialist politicians. Looks like Wisconsin may get it this year, leaving Illinois as the only state having no conception of the 2nd Amendment. Very sad how one county, Crook county, can control the entire state.

Illinois State Rep. Jim Sacia, R-Pecatonica, a sponsor of the legislation, said the bill in question needed 71 yes votes to be approved, but only received 65. Even so, the bill did get enough support to qualify for "postponed consideration," which means it will likely be voted on again in the future.

"It will come back up in May," Sacia said

I work on the south side of sh**cago. Other than that, I stay out of Illinois and don't give them a cent. I carry a Kimber pepper blaster II when I have to be in Illinois. It's better than nothing.Even if the crooks outgun the citizens 1000 to 1.

I agree with Victor. I live in NWI and worked on the southside of Chicago for over a year. It drove me nuts that I couldn't carry with me even though my store was shot and multiple times in the year I was there. I couldn't work there one night without at least hearing some sort of gun shots. I would love to see Illinois get smart and allow their law abiding citizens to start carrying and just watch the crime rate plummet.
