60-Day Suspension Suggested for State's Attorney Who Pulled Gun on Process Server - News - ABA Journal

So, how the heck does Mr. former States Attorney get away with carrying concealed in a Parking lot, but regular citizens can not... This is the whole problem with Illinois. The rules only apply to "the People" and not to those in Power... getting off with a misdemeanor after two felony counts and a 60 day suspension?

Can you say... slap on the wrists??? He must have connections to "the One"....

Just look at what is going on all over the country, if our tax dollars support them, they are above the law. Former, retired, exiled to Siberia, they still have a special set of rules from the rest of us. Illinois is no different than any other state, they are just a little more brazen in carrying out their agenda.

I can't believe that would happen in a state with such tough gun laws. And with all the honest politicians they have there.

Required to pay $1500 fine and forfeit of his pistol, but will have his record wiped clean after a 12 month period of "supervision"?!?! What a load of BS! That's the problem with Illinois and the US, they're held to a lower standard, but want to control and invade our lives! But the people who put them into office would get the book thrown at them and been charged with multiple felonies and lost their right to own a firearm! I say we hold all elected officials (and those they appoint) to a higher standard than the average citizen. Throw the book at them:xmad:!... Sorry, rant over.

Its the same hypocritical actions as many in prominent positions:

As an example Rosie O'Donnell - After screaming for Gun Control O'Donnell's bodyguard applied for a concealed firearm permit. She said that because of threats, she and her family needed protection, because of her "tough gun-control rhetoric". But the common man has no need to protect himself or family?
