Hadn't looked at DU for quite some time. After reading a few dozen posts my head started to hurt. Those people are without a doubt some of the biggest raving loonies you will ever see.

Does it ever scare you to think there are that many people out there that think that way? I guess the prez got re-elected so I shouldn't be surprised. I guess they are being tagged as the low information voters by the man!! I just hope they stay in Colorado.

I couldn't even read it after I read the first few comments.

I think most Americans would support the second ammendment more if they were presented with a well laid out arguement in support of it

I'm really glad we don't get into arguments about the physics of a plastic or polymer barrel on INGO. I don't think I'd stay around. Life, liberty and the pursuit of polymers are not my game. I prefer the real, malleable, stinking dirt ( that they apparently think we are) than the esoteric arguments there. The foul language alone was enough to make this old jarhead cringe!

IF we were to get a UBC, these folks would not pass. And that's fine with me. If they suddenly decide they need a gun, let them go to a gun show, er buy privately, er...

There are tools, and there are tools.

    I'll give you two:

    1. Tyranny sucks
    2. Nothing stops a bad guy with a gun, except a good guy with a gun

Please let me know if I need to polish my presentation of either argument :dunno:

On that same note, I'm waiting to hear the "rational argument" for allowing 1A to apply to foreign journalist who pollute our political discourse with their euro-socialist garbage.

Those are some crazy folks posting comments.

Sadly, no their not... They are the average American person. Only us country bumpkins dont get it.

Every city you go to, strike up a debate, you will quickly be completely outnumbered.

These are the people who voted for this hope and change.

I swear I drive myself mad over this... I want to help, but nothing seems to. The die hard 2A idealists believe that anyone should get a gun anywhere, anytime, no restriction, no checks, no compromise, no infringement. While this is the way it should be, we see how that goes over in modern America.. The people who want to compromise are told they dont deserve to call themselves American. So what is it? Either we start ****ing hitting them, or we shut the hell up, and take it.. Right now, all we are doing is driving a wedge right in the middle of our party, and scratching our heads, wondering why we are losing power...

I started a post awhile back where I said that the NRA leaders are all getting rich and fat off of this BUSINESS they have created, and that they are not doing what they promise.. I have since decided to pay up, and hope for the best, even if Im not sure....

I just dont get it... If the staunch 2A guys are so hardcore on the meaning of the constitution, and that ALL gun legislation is an infringement, than we need some lawsuits, we need to prosecute those who have proposed said legislation.

We talk and talk and talk, and NOTHING gets done.

Ive tried considering so many alternatives. Ive tried the idea of compromising, and all I see that doing is driving a larger wedge between us..

I said this before and got another shallow pro 2a comment(shallow in its power, not in its lack of truth)..
WE NEED TO FIGURE SOMETHING OUT

The rate we are going, things are only getting worse.

We need to start busting heads (in a legal sense)
because I would LOVE to reach a happy medium, but I just dont see how there is any MEDIUM with the people who hate guns. They really live in another world somehow..

I agree with you. I've sat for hours on end debating with some people and gotten nowhere, and I really don't know what to do except to keep sending letters. It's eventually going to lead to large civil unrest if not civil war when they push it too far, and then maybe it'll be settled for another 200+ years.

a bullet that would never have been fired but for that magazine

so the magazine killed her. The maker of that magazine is no less culpable than the driver of a car containing a man who robs the 7/11 is. If the driver goes to prison then so should the person selling the magazine. Let that happen a few times and we will see who decides they are must haves.

They must have gotten pretty butt hurt by the OP because when I went there this was the message at the top of the board.

That board doesn't surprise me in the least. I once had a lady tell that the life of someone trying to kill me is just the same as an unborn child. I quit 2 days later.
