    Unglaciated heaven
Last night I was in attendance at a gun auction, they were clearing out an ammo table and the auctioneer calls it a box of 20ga ammo. I won it for $5, good deal until I get home.

I popped the top and it's not 20, smaller, not 28, bigger. It's 24 ga, never in my 46 years have I heard of a 24 ga. Completely worthless to me. I made a couple calls and found I guy that owns 3. So I'll get my money back and make a guy happy that he doesn't have to pay $17/box.

I find the odd or uncommon interesting, even if useless.

I've heard of 24ga before, but never seen one.
Not surprising at all to me that an auctioneer would have little knowledge about ammo.
I've picked up guns for cheap at auctions because the auction house had an odd listing.

Case in point, a 5" EAA Witness in .45acp sporting the "Wonder Finish", original plastic case and one magazine for $190.
They had it advertised, and called it out as a "Tanfoglio", which it is, but many people don't recognize the name.

Sometimes I like to lurk at auctions waiting to pounce.

I've got a buddy who loves finding odd caliber. 24 gauge is definitely unique... I'd guess the auctioneer didn't realize what he had.
