I guess I don't understand why there is rep on this board at all. On one hand you would think that it would give you some indication that a persons advice is pretty solid. But then you have the people that call for negative rep because they feel that others should know this person should not be trusted in what they say. Then it all gets very confusing when people start rep pyramids and moderators join in to make meaningless rep earning posts.

Why in the world is there rep at all?

There is not much to understand and rep has no value at all.
    Just dont worry about it.
I dont judge someone by his rep and how many shiny badges he/she has.
I judge that person by the things he/she says, and by the way he/she acts on the forum.
Like you can get your rep all the way to the max by using the rep pyramid thread.
Some people will rep you because you said something smart, something silly, something random, something funny, or whatever.
Some will rep you because you gave them rep, some will not give rep to anyone.
So there is no standard in rep.Having lots of rep doesn't mean that you are the coolest guy around.

It really doesn't mean anything, because im all maxed out on rep and have my 15 badges doesn't mean that my posts and my opinion is more valuable than a new member with no rep at all.
I can say stupid things and be wrong about many things and you shouldn't trust my opinion more because I have more rep than others.

This is the internet after all, nothing serious. :)

Rep is not really a reliable indicator of social stature here on INGO.

Bacon posts are much more effective in determining the true nature or worthiness of one's standing in this online community.

    * For the record, this was my 755th bacon related post. :rockwoot:

    No way! :D

You must mention bacon in at least half of your posts (the other half is OC) so I believe you have over 6000 bacon related posts. :):

I don't know how to give rep, perhaps. Ecause I don't have 50 posts, or maybe I'm just completely distracted by that incredible bacon roll!!!

Either way, with rep or more likely without... I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow!!!

How did I never think of a woven bacon roll?!?

You're the best, Chesh97! I wish you good fortune! (that has to be better than rep, right?)

I will pass your gift on to others to enjoy as well. You have helped so many!!
