Now that I am a proud owner of a HK VP9 handgun, I guess I better learn how to correctly pronounce the company name, eh?

Is Koch pronounced "cock" or "coke"?

I know most people say "HK" or "H&K", but I would like to at least know the correct pronunciation.

(I know that I am asking this question in a forum that is based in Indiana, and us Hoosiers tend to have a fun time with consistent pronunciations as a rule, but I figured "what the heck", give it a try!)

    Thanks.

I have a friend here in Batesville (a heavily German town) with the last name of Koch and they pronounce it as "Cook"...

I think the proper german pronunciation would rime with rock, but with a softer ch at the end. Imagine it were spelled 'Kokhh', with the 'h' pronounced. It's not a pronunciation that rolls off the American tongue easily.

Here's the pronounciation from GoogleTranslate: Koch Click the speaker icon in the first window to hear it pronounced.
