How much was 22lr before this recent shortage

As the title states. What was the price of 500 rnds of regular grade 22lr before this recent shortage started? My friend and I are having a debate.

Federal Bulk packs were $10 a couple years ago on black friday. "Normal" price is around $20 for a brick of 500-550, depending on brand.

As I recall spring '08 it was $9.97 and it went up to $11.97 in fall '08. Then post-election it was very hard to find and sometime in '09 it went up to $14.97 and then gradually went up to the $19.97 price between '09 to now. I would expect that after this crazy cycle we'll see some price hikes at Walmart. If I had to guess maybe $22.97 or something similar by summer/fall. So it's been at least 4 years since it was even close to the $9-11 price-range.

Of course this is for Federal 550 packs only.

I had seen prices between .04 and .07 cents per round, depending on brand and such.

Now people are asking crazy prices like .17-.30 per round. about 400-500% mark-up from "Pre-ammo shortage days".

Last fall, Rural King had a sale and I purchased 500 Federal for $18.75 + tax. Normally they were around $21 ~ $22.

In 2008, you could buy 550 of .22lr for $7 or $8 then it jumped to about $14 overnight, Since then it's been creeping up $2 every year. Really sucks.

The lack of decent shooting ranges near Indy and the bloated prices of ammo really takes the fun out the shooting.
