I am curious how much ammo everyone keeps on hand for the weapons they have. I personally would like to keep 500rounds on hand for every caliber of weapon I keep. I am not quite there yet, but getting close. I believe I am trying to be prepared. What do you think? The pic below is my ammo stash, except for an ammo can of 1000rds of 223 and appox. 200rds of 7.62x39.

500 each caliber would be a good starting point. I think I must have at least 5000 in bulk .22lr though. I won't be satisfied until I have at least doubled these numbers, and stashed some reloading components (at least primers, when they become available).

In the current ammo climate my quick answer is, all I can get. I try to keep 5000 in reserve and gather more to practice with. Rather be prepared to hit what I'm aiming at and use less than blaze away with an unfamiliar weapon. Also, I have gotten myself down to three calibers (including .22) which makes the high number not seem so unreasonable or bulky. Also, trying to gear up to reload which would shift the stores a bit.

I currently only have .22lr, 9mm, 12 gauge, and 44 magnum (for deer hunting). I have about 1500 rounds of 22, 1200 rounds of 9mm, 75 rounds of 12 gauge and 50 rounds of 44 magnum. I've steadily building up my 9mm stash to get it to that point. Not a lot of disposable income around these parts. I'd like to get about 3 times that much 22 and some more 12 gauge, including a few boxes of buckshot. If I had more cash I'd buy a lot more.

I keep as much on hand as I can afford. That is no where near 500 rounds for each caliber I own.

I shoot for at least 1000 rds. I've got close to 2000 in 7.62x54r, prob a bit over 1000 in 7.62x39. And 300-600 in other centerfire rifles. Trying to get more for these rifles, and for my pistols. I"m somewhere around 2000-3000 in 22lr

I like to have 2-3K of each caliber I regularly shoot. (5.56, 7.62X39, 9mm, .38/.357, 22lr, 12ga) The thin supply this year has brought my stocks down some but I hope to be able to replenish soon.

More loaded ammo then I care to count. I have been stocking up on reloading supplies recently, well as much as i can find.

    This is my problem right now, about 3,000 7.69x32, 1,000 .223, 350 .40, 500 9mm, 350 .45ACP... Oh and ~1500 .22lr

Needless to say I am feeling a little paniced
