OMG, we found some old ammo (again)!

"This is the second time old ammunition has been found at the home. Just last week, the bomb squad spent about half an hour disposing of shotgun shells found there."

If that were found at my house all of the neighboring homes would be evacuated, too. They'd all be at my house digging around underneath it.

OMG... where does this level of paranoia and over reaction come from. If I found that under my house the second trip would be with a can of WD and a can of PB Blaster. Soak it down and move it out later. After all its been there for a while, so it's not likely to go BOOM.

Note: This wasn't like they found 75 rounds of .308.

It was a crate of grenades.

Turned out to be chalk training rounds - but that wasn't determined until later.

Seriously? I hope so. Because losing their minds over bullets just makes my head hurt. Qrenades though...whole other ball of wax.

I hadn't heard the grenade story. My first thought (if it was rifle ammo) was that I'd throw it in the tumbler and see how it cleaned up. Heck, 40 years old is practically brand new compared to some ammo I have (and shoot regularly)! :):
