What a waste! Most of it looks like rust has pretty well destroyed it. It would have been awesome to have that stuff imported and shared amongst collectors, even if it had to be demilled or whatever else. Even converted to semi-auto many of those would command a hefty price tag. Such a shame.

Some of the full auto stuff may have been difficult to convert to civilian use, but I'm sure there are plenty of full auto guys crying right now. As was I when I saw the pile of 98K's since they seem to be getting scarce. Gonna hang on to mine, and make sure it's passed on to someone who will appreciate it! :(

Guess it all depends on contents and frame of mind. We (majority of INGO members on this US board) see this as a shame since 99% of those items we can not have (legal or illegaly) due to the scarcity of the items.

Yet on the other side of the world these items are a dime a dozen and they are seen like any other tool as just a basic tool.

Are we certain this is Vietnam? Looks like the depots in Cambodia.

I went to school with many refusniks who did their Soviet service in the Labor Battalions in the Ural mountains. First they built warehouses and then they stocked with WWII battlefield pick up, all cos'd up for future use.

I remember when my unit coded out our M-60s and a bunch of M-16A2s in 2007. I cried as the armorer filled a truck bed with our guns. There is a picture somewhere of me "Swimming" in the pile.

It's not like these were the last surviving firearms of their kind. It's like doritos, they'll make more.

Scroll all the way to the bottom and one of the tags is "Vietnam War"
