I recently bought a Winchester Model 70 Stealth .308 26in barrel. I was looking online for the proper rail to mount a scope but seem to be getting mixed answered. I am wanting a one piece steel rail. I was wondering if you guys had any answers or knew of any rails. The answers I saw that were mixed, were from guys who actually called Winchester Support Line and they said the techs gave them the mixed answers.

Also just for fun, what scope would you recommend on top of this rail? Want to stay under $500. Thanks.

I'd call Glen Seekins and have him throw in rings. On a budget EGW does well as well.

As for $500 scopes, what sort of shooting is it you plan to do?

Yeah I had heard some decent reports about EGW rails but didn't know if that rail would work. Do you happen to know which model of rail might work? As far as the scope, I am looking to take it on hunts throughout the US. Probably wont be shooting anything farther than 400-500 yards.
