help with edison batteries

    i need some help with some batteries i would like to renew. i accuired about 150 edison batteries i would like to rebuild for a emergency battery bank. they were junked from an old train repair station. they come apart so i can clean the nickle iron plates but im noy having any luck finding Lithium hydroxide or liquid potassium hydroxide for batteries or info on the proper way to restore. any help would be appreciated.IMG_0458.jpgIMG_0459.jpgIMG_0460.jpg

    Now that is a lucky find!

    I would stay away from LiOH, but KOH is relatively easy to find. Laboratory supply places sell it and you can mix it to the strength you need, though the cheapest places are soap making supply places such as
    Potassium Hydroxide, 2 pounds | Bramble Berry® Soap Making Supplies

    Edison cells don't need much in the way of reconditioning, either they will still be good or they won't. This is one of the better sites on NiFe cells out there:
