The PC 625 "CAPTIAN AMERICA" 42 oz.

I am going to get the 625, and put new grips on it POST HASTE.

I am simply not that patriotic.

Just wondered if anyone had any experiance with the 325, and wether a lightweight aluminum 45 acp revolver had any unknown benefits that I may have overlooked.

    Thanks in advance.

I hace a 625jm and I love it. I shoot it in Icore matches sometimes, I just wish they made it in a 6" barrel. But it is a great gun. I think you will be happy with either purchase.

I don't have any experience but look forward to reading the replies.

I tend to like black guns best, but I think the 625 would look awesome with some black or dark grey grips.

Post some pics if you change them out.

I have the older model 625s and 610s. Love them all. I'd really like a LW Mod 25 to shoot for comparison. If it were me I'd get the 625 and put a set of nice wood grips on it.

I have a 5" 625 model of 1989 with some nice Ahrends grips that is quite a shooter. If you are going to hand-load for it then the light weight 325 could be made manageable. If you are going to be shooting factory ammo only, I'd opt for the heavier 625 so it can soak up as much of the recoil as possible :twocents:

Yeah, decided on the 625, and throw some different grips on there post haste.

Upon talking to a guy that owned a 325, apparently, its just not heavy enough to shoot fast.

    625 it is!

I've heard so many people deride the 325 for being too light to be manageable at an advertised 31 oz. empty.

Many of the aluminum framed Kimber 1911 compacts are 25-28 oz.

Personally, I'd go with the 325 Thunder Ranch, 625JM or find an older model 625 around in about that order. Actually, that's exactly the order I've been following in looking for a good one.

Sample size has been small thus far, but I've been disappointed in every JM I've found. Bring your feeler gauges and gauge pins with you to find one that's "right".

I have 2 625s and love them there my favorite revolvers! I also wish they made a 6in or a 8 3/8 barrel model and I would pass on the 325 I handled 1 and was not impressed good luck

You can't go wrong with any model 25, but why not go with the model 27 it has 2 more bullets, and .357 will do anything a .45 will do while .38 is fun to shoot.

The problem with this option is based on personal preference and purpose of the gun.

8 shot guns wont work in the sports I aim to use the gun for, and are a liability rather then a benefit.

And I like shooting .45acp revolvers a lot more, and I like large slow bullets when it comes to revolvers, as opposed to loud, snappy, small ones.
