Have you been to Corpus Christi, TX?

I will be going to Corpus Christi for a week or so soon and wanted to know if anyone has been and what are the places to go and things to do? Also maybe the things to avoid.

Go on further south to Bird Island Natl' Seashore. MILES & MILES of shoreline.

We were headed to Corpus Christi but ended up in Port Aransas... I have never seen sand so fine in my entire life.. and I've been a lot of places. It was like driving on powder. It was also my first experience with driving on a beach.... lol.
But that was a few years ago (2000), so I don't remember much else about it.

If you want to see fine sand go to Pensacola Beach. Blinding white and it looks just like powerdy snow.

Well we are actually staying in Rockport and we plan on going to many places around the area including South Padre Island.
