I grew up with a matched set of H&R shotguns, 12, 20 & .410. They all shot well and carried nice. Took a lot of fox squirrel, a few birds, a rabbit or two, and dispatched occasional snakes around the campsite. Shot some stillboard with the 12 on occasion. Had an argument with the 12 one day when I threw it to my shoulder as a rabbit jumped and hit the break button instead of the hammer...wound up with the brass end of a shell right between the eyes.
Dad still has all three...and they're still great, simple, reliable guns.
i have owned three different model h&r 12 gauges and all three where very nice shot good and didnt cost alot to buy.the bull barrel one is heavy but does a nice job in the field with the deer
I have had a 20 guage and 410 New England Pardner modles over the years. Both shot well. Killed lots of critters. Used to carry the 20 in the truck with me. Sturdy, safe guns. I don't have either anymore.
Have friends with 12s. Nice guns but kick a little hard for my taste. Fairly simple to remedy by cutting the stock and adding a slip on recoil pad.
