I have a Ruger 77/357 I want to get threaded 1/2"x28 and also set the front sight back. Searching the web I found pictures of the same rifle done by jpgrips.com but he is out of state and I would rather stay local if possible. I'm not clear on what the laws are shipping a firearm out of state to gunsmiths are? Anyways it would simply be more convenient to get someone local to do the work.

I've seen people on here refer to AllenM as a reputable smith but I don't have the 50 posts in order to PM him for his contact info. I'm also thinking about getting it cerakoted. If someone could steer me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Diamond Collision is his business name. You should be able to Google that. And think about becoming more active. This is a awesome sight. Come around more often!

That is sure a fine looking gun.......how do you move a sight on these? Does that sight piece screw off as well? Sorry for the silly question........but curiosity is killing me.

No it requires cutting the imitation band off and turning it to go back on. you loose a little barrel so barrel needs to be approx 18"
