Just love living in Broad Ripple. Sittin on the porch trying to tell if it's AK, SKS, 9mm or .32 fire you hear going off is so much fun. This vest gets a little heavy though! ;)

I have three neighborhoods around me setting off fireworks right now, kinda sounds like they are bombing something a few miles away

I was sitting here playing Battlefield Bad Company, and my wife said it sounded like a war zone in the living room. She asked if I would like to go outside to have a smoke, and when we were on the back deck, fireworks are booming all around us. I said, you know, it sounds about like the living room out here...

    She said nothing.

I thought guns (outside) were illegal in Chicago, but all I'm hearing is small caliber "fireworks." :dunno::D

If I lived in the county, I would be doing some shooting myself. In a responsible manner though, with no alcohol involved because the two do not mix well. :rockwoot: :patriot:

Man, this thread reminds me of being 8. The first gun i EVER shot was on the 4th one year. I was the first to shoot dad's new Smith DA .44 mag into a bail of straw (five kids, one dad, 6 shots... PERFECT). Everyone covered their ears and i was like "What, is it gonna be loud?" Deaf for like a solid 45 seconds afterwards, no joke.

Best 4th ever, no fireworks can triumph over the flash of gunfire with family. RIP dad & mike, miss you two.

It's almost 2am and it's still going on here, not as much but there are still a few shots every now and then.
