Been a few years since I've been to National Gun Day over in Louisville, but I suppose the same would apply at 1500 and elsewhere:

How are prices for powder & primers typically at larger gun shows?

I'm not necessarily expecting Powder Valley cheap, but what might a guy expect per-pound price for Varget/H4350 or a 1000rd box of CCI 200/400 primers?

    Many thanks

powders seem to be going from $18-$24 per lb depending on what it is (rifle being the higher of course).

Primers vary but they seem to go from $25-$30 and if you buy them at a LGS i saw one guy trying to get $43 per 1K. I turned and walked away from that guy.

I agree with those prices, that's pretty accurate. Though I'd say it will be tough to find a pound of rifle powder under $20, Bullseye or Unique maybe but not Varget.

Primers at $25/1000 is great. If you can find Tula primers they will be in that range or less. I've looked at the last few shows and have not seen any that cheap. Best I found was $27/1000 CCI and the last show the best was $31 and I bought the last 1000 at the show.

Graf and Sons is not even listing CCI small pistol or large pistol primers any more on their website. I paid $26/1000 when I bought a case from them recently.

they all burn well but i use/like accurate 2230 as it does burn well and its accurate. It also meters well and i seem to get more rounds per pound of it then some others i have tried.

Thats not that uncommon to find them at $25/1000. The place i get mine at is $30/1000 every day normal price.

I'd like to find them for that. Not saying you aren't but I've done quite a bit of shopping lately and haven't seen them in that range except for the Tula boxer. Care to share your source? Indiana Gun Club has been the cheapest around Indy and they are up to $31/1000 for CCI and Federal, $29 for Remington, $30 for Winchester if they have them and the last two times I have been there they are out of stock.

A Pound only goes SO far....

It may SEEM to go farther, but a pound (7000 Grains) only goes so far..

    I do like 2230 also.
My load of 25gr. of WC844, under a 55gr. FMJ will load 280 rounds.

I could not get AA data list up, at this time-your loads may use less per round..Bill.

AHHH...but then if the powder burns hotter per gr. then you need less to get the same "hotness" of round.

I get mine up at Granger Guns in Granger, IN. Its all the way at the top of the state. I got a friend that lives up there and when i get up there or he comes down here i have him bring them down or i pick them up when i go up. He's a bit cheaper than other places on powders also and he keeps alot of stuff in stock as well.
