Anyone have any thoughts as to Gun Loading stands for percussion revolvers (yes I know them only from YT videos)? Good idea, unneeded, bleh?

    E.g., http://www.gunstands.com/bkpowder.html

I have all the guns for the nephews so I have a dozen questions about accessories. TIA for your help.
    What did the calvary use?
They need horses and saddles too..

I bought one like your web site example, then took it apart and made 3 for myself. Some 6" wide scrap, a good hinge, a gouge and a sabre or band saw. Most difficult part was making the divot for the grips with the gouge. The rest of it was a piece of cake.

    Kirk,
I can produce those in my shop.
    How many do you need?
I have some 100+ year old oak that would make gorgeous stands like that.

    .
I've only used the sort where you load the cylinder separately from the gun and that was only while doing bullet experiments that could not be loaded otherwise. As has been said they look like handy things to have at a range.

Comes in handy when loading at shared range. I've seen some "interesting" loading "techniques". Got plans off the internet.

Yes, the ranges they frequent are public or clubs. The stands I have seen as I have been sucking up YT videos look like an excellent idea for beginners or those that need to focus. I first saw Maye use one on C&R Arsenal.

Thought it would be optimal training wheels idea.
