So I've been looking at crimson trace lasers while waiting for my shield to arrive at my LGS and although you can clearly see a difference in the brightness of the green laser over the red laser. I really don't know if the green lasers are really around $100 dollars brighter. I don't plan on using the laser sights during daylight hours. I just wanted to use the laser in conjunction with the stock fiber optic sights to help compensate for the fiber optics lack of visibility in low light situations. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Bottom line: Green is visible in daylight, Red, probably not. Sounds like you are on the right track.

(And dont rely on anything that takes batteries for your life. You will likely be disappointed)

ETA: and that ESPECIALLY includes biometrics, whether on quick access safes or smart guns.

That's why my optics are powered by a crank operated dynamo.
