Maybe we'll get to buy it for surplus in a few years at half the price or less. Kinda like their $125 toilet seats!

The days of the $125 dollar toilet seat are gone. Today there are too many levels of human beings watching every purchase to verify that what is being bought is #1) needed, and #2) not too expensive for what is being purchased. Unfortauntely, that means today we only pay $35 for the toilet seat. But the administrative BS behind the scenes to facilitate the purchase ends up costing the american tax payer so much that essentially... the toilet seat still costs $125...

    :dunno:

aww, ****.. forget it. You were right.

    Right over there!
I'd been told about the Social Security Administration stockpiling ammo, .357 Magnum was specifically what I was told, but I hadn't seen any actual written articles on it yet (hadn't really been searching hard either)

They ordered something like 175,000 rounds for their agents, they have a LEO type office. About 300 agents. So with that order it's about 600 rounds per agent. Not much stockpiling.

    This is correct.

I have a difficult time getting what I need for my military projects in a timely manner. Used to be so much quicker...

The number of people who are involved in contracts and oversight elevate the overall price of the item in additional labor costs alone.

I'd heard a much higher number, and this article seems to indicate the same...

"The Social Security Administration, for instance, not normally considered on the frontlines of anything but dealing with seniors, explained that its purchase of millions of rounds was for special agents’ required quarterly weapons qualifications."

I don't know where he's getting the "millions" from, but every other link I found has the SS office purchasing 174,000 rounds of ammunition. Even Alex Jones, who is in the business of pimping this info for fear porn.

    Here are just a few:
