If memory serves the Indiana State Police purchased a few of those in the early to mid 80's for their snipers. I was able to handle one. It was a heavy rifle. The snipers were happy to get the Rem. PSS in the early 90's due to the lighter weight and better factory support.

It was carried by Billy Zane in Sniper...i think.
