I have two "busy" :naughty: orange platys. Our 2 have now become 13. I don't want all of my tank room to be taken up with this one species, so I'd like to get rid of some. They range in size from 1/3" to about 1". All but the smallest one would be safe in any community tank unless it's stocked with a really aggressive large carnivorous fish.

Platys are beginner level fish that don't need any special treatment. Pretty darn hardy too. These two were making more while the rest of my tank struggled to survive the nitrate spike.

Tank conditions have been stable and disease-free for the last 4 months, the last issue being the nitrate spike and the secondary infections suffered due to the weakened conditions.

Stores won't take 'em, so help me get rid of them.

Any chance your tank heater goes to 375? Also, I need a lemon.

I have sold fish to a cable installer when I watched the cichlids eat a few other fish. He was happy, so were my remaining fish.

All of my fish are mouth brooders, so them having fry is just an extra meal for the others when the mom decides that they have outgrown her mouth.

I tried netting one of the females one time, but after removing over 100 lbs of rocks from the tank only for her to spit all of the babies out right before I caught her, I decided to let the fry be food.
