I have the FNS in .40 S&W. Nice firearm, I picked up mine on impulse, it's listed in classifieds now. Why?

I like my HK P30 in .40 much better, if it doesn't sell, trading in on CMMG 9mm AR, once it arrives @ LGS. If I didn't have the HK, I'd keep it, for a $600ish pistol W/ night sites, hard to beat.

In my opinion? If you gave it to me I would sell it.

My personal list of plastic pistol build quality it would look like this.

    1. glock m&p hk
    2. xd sr9
    3. Sig polymer, S&W sigma / Sd series, FN guns

I have no use for em.

    They do shoot ok tho.

Come on you can't be serious? Putting FN's behind or in the same category as SR9's, sig polymers and sigma/SD's? My FNS is every bit the gun that my glocks, M&P's and HK's were and i've owned them all. No problem since this is your opinion and that's fine but I would be interested in some specific reasons the FN's rate so little. I like the FN because for around 600.00 dollars you get a pistol with night sights standard that have a good sight picture, a decent case, three magazines instead of two, nice slide/frame fit and rock solid barrel lock-up. The trigger on mine is very nice as well for a poly gun. The accuracy, reliability and pointability for me has been great too. I don't really think it's better than glocks, MP's, and HK's but certainly not any worse.

Based on my experience only, smaller hands, & not an expert, just a pinker (9mm & .40 S&W only considered for this list):
    1) HK P30
    2) Walther PPQ
    3) M&P
    4) FN
    5) Glock (again, before the INGO beat down, just my opinion, tried the Glock, hated the Glock, sold the Glock). Hmmm, wonder if that disclaimer will really work? At worst it will take heat off the Tango Down Rep OP.

It's all a matter of opinion. I absolutely hate Glocks, but they work. I have also owned a Sig 229 E2, Xd service model, and an M&P Pro. Yet, I still carry and trust my FNP.

Yea, this is a bit ridiculous and definitely a personal opinion based on preference and not fact.

Based on fact goes a little more like this:

    HK, Walther, Glock, MP
    XD, FN
    sig 2022, SR9
    SD series
    Sigma

Bottom line is that FN makes a good quality gun with A LOT of great features (maybe the best stock feature set of any pistol out there when you take into account ergos, texture, flared mag well, nice standard night sights, mag release, 3 17rd mags, etc...), however the FNS trigger is not very good IMO. Their FNP/FNX SA trigger is great...and if they moved the safety to the same position as the FNS, this would be one of my top options for a poly DA/SA.

Thanks for all the input. i have heard a few things about the triggers. was looking at the springfield xdm 9mm compact also.

After owning glocks, XD's, M&P's I got my FNS because of the nice trigger pull but this is likely user perception go try one out for yourself and decide what feels good to you.
