Ok, I just finished up my first build. I have been reading up on headspacing, and have heard if all the parts are new that it should not need to be checked. I put a decent amount of money into this and wouldn't want my first couple rounds to be the last because it was wrong. I know a lot of people here have built up many different AR style rifles, and I am looking for opinions on weather this is true or not. Thanks for the help. Here is a pic of the finished rifle. Minus charging handle(was out of stock) nice they inform me when all the other stuff came.

Still waiting for a few more pieces to finish it off, but rifle is complete.

Looks great! I think I may have a standard charging handle laying around I can send you to finish it off. If so I'll PM you.
Thanks for the offer. I paid for a tactical charging handle and when the box came with all the other stuff it was missing. After checking the order I found it was going to be shipped out ASAP. Not nearly fast enough for me. I don't have a spare here. I may borrow a friends to get a chance to fire it.

Looks great! How do you like that rifle length forearm? I am thinking of buying one for my current build and am debating between rifle and specter length:dunno:

So far I am pleased with it. I can tell it has a bit more weight to it than my carbine length tube I had. I think I would have liked either length as long as it got past the gas block.

this is just me, but I check headspacing on new rifles also. Mistakes have been made on barrels before. But, since the maker of yours was quality, you should be okay.

Weight and getting past the gas block are the issues for me as well. I am just worried that when i mount my surefire M952XM07 light to it,that it will be front heavy!
