Gavin here, new to Indiana looking forward to getting to know the state. Ex. specwar n looking for some quality / quiet living. Been looking around to buy a decent log cabin in the surrounding area to spend weekends, any suggestions as to where are the best areas to look? Don't need anything special, just something quiet, with some land, good hunting in the area.

Those counties make up the majority of Indiana's "hill country"... And in many of them, real estate is very reasonably priced due to many of those areas being relatively depressed economically.

The nice already put-together homestead properties will carry "nice" prices, though... PRIME land will generally carry the prime prices....especially if you're within 30-45 minutes of the decent sized towns (which covers a lot of ground...).

I would look in Pike or gibson countys. Too close to Indy and you have to deal with the goofy Liberals.
