Just moved to the Eagle Creek area from downtown. I bought a home near Eagle Creek because I love water and woods, but have not had the chance to visit. How do some of you take advantage of Eagle Creek?
Aside from that, we go a couple times a year just for the hiking trails and nature sightseeing. There are also some nice picnic and play areas for the kids.
Lotta trails to walk. Lotta wildlife to see (4 leggers and 2 leggers). Earth Discovery Center is pretty cool. Canoeing in the summer. Fishing.
There's stuff on the 'backside' of the park that may not get as much attention. Eagle's Hideaway and Eagles Crest are rental facilities for parties, weddings, etc. There are some trails off the beaten path around the Crest.
A few years ago when I used to fly-fish a lot, I hit Eagle Creek (the creek) up off 86th (?) street, waded upstream and hit a bunch of Wipers (white bass/striped bass hybrids).
