I could do a 220 in SA but 226s are carry guns to me and the only SA I’ll carry is a 1911. A P226 DA/SA Legion would be perfect. Right now, I have a P226 in .357 Sig on my hip and would love to have a 9mm stable mate for him. I’ve already bought 9mm mags for when I can find one

When it comes to trigger can't you have a gunsmith do a trigger job on them like most firearms?

You can get a great trigger with drop in parts in a Sig. I like the GreyGuns hybrid trigger. The trigger on my old P226 with the GG trigger upgrade is a tad better than the trigger on my P229 Legion. The Legions use a custom type of GG trigger from the factory.

The simple answer is yes! I love my Sig 229 in three calibers. It came from the factory as a .40S&W and I added the 9mm bbl and .357 bbl's.

    The Legions have great triggers!

I went the opposite route to get 3 calibers in my P229. It was purchased as a 9mm Elite and I bought a complete slide in .357 Sig, then added the .40 barrel. I just need a 9mm barrel to get the P226s to 3 calibers.

These are really great guns and handle all 3 calibers very well.

Sig, Glock, 1911, CZ, Star, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Ruger...... doesn't hurt to own them all. Practice with what you carry, savor and cherish all that you own. Share with the next generation, keep this American tradition going!!!! :ingo: :patriot:

I now find myself wanting a Star. Don’t think I know what it is yet though.

Found one that I may bid on. Kind of a neat gun.

I talked myself off the Star ledge. I may pick one up some day but am back on the road that I had set out on.

There’s a new 9mm barrel arriving for the P226 tomorrow which will make that another 3 caliber handgun

    I'm sure some will disagree.
But I've had a basic Nitron finish Sig P229 .357 Sig for 6-7 years, and I really like it.
I like the .357 Sig round, and Underwood makes some great loads.
I also got a spare .40 SW barrel that can be just swapped in and go.
That is the set-up I have and I really like the .357 Sig round. A very nice set-up to carry.

Is the 9mm bbl in the .40 226 a 'drop in and go'?

    Thanks,
It is. I just got back from MCFG where I ran 165 flawless rounds through the gun using both 9mm and .40 mags. Almost flawless I should say. I couldn't find my 9mm recoil spring so I ran and older .40 spring and it was dribbling brass at my feet.

When installed, the factory stock 9mm barrel has no play in the .40 slide despite having a miniscule gap on each side of the barrel hood. The P226 is a sweet shooter in 9mm.

So the question is now should I go with an Elite or the Legion? The legion just seems kind of ready to go but I hear good things about the Elite too. I think the big thing for me is I want the red dot on top. Is the one that comes on the Legion any good or should I just have a shop cut it for an RMR?
