Interesting.... By IC, it doesn't seem to be a firearm (no explosion).

Batteries, capacitors, electromagnet.... Doesn't look TOO hard to build!

That's an awful big projectile. Looks cool, but hard to accelerate. Scale down to a .45 steel slug and a longer electromagnet, and I bet this could pack a HUGE punch.

Would make a nice winter project, no?

After watching that demonstration, that really does not have that much penetration considering the projectile was stopped by plastic. And count the number of shots needed to go through three drinking glasses.

Give him credit though for possibly the beginning of another letter in BATFE!

Considering it was built by a kid, is fully portable, and uses nothing but off-the-shelf parts..... not too shabby!

Cool. A smaller projectile, a few more coils timed to deliver the payload down a longer barrel, and autoloading capability would be nice.

Of course the spurious electro-magnetic radiation most likely kills the user over time...

You crack me up! Why dont you stand in front of it and be the first human test subject since it is so ineffective?
I am more in awe that a KID took the initiative and stopped playing with his firearms long enough to invent this!

BYW...Indykid, I really dont want you to be the test subject in case it really could hurt you. Just saying
